There’s a soft spot in my heart for Coursera. Although my time is almost entirely devoted to Udemy these days, I still enjoyed many of the great courses that I’ve taken on Coursera. I want to get back to taking more courses there.
So it’s good news that Coursera has raised another $60 million from investors to continue bringing great quality online education to anyone.
Interesting to me is that Coursera has increased it’s focus on career development to about 50% of it’s course roster.
“About half our content is career oriented and half isn’t,” he said. “One of the things we’re thinking about would be premium content on top of [the free materials] in liberal -arts courses.”
Even selling more content on top of existing courses (extra projects, lectures, course materials), is a good idea.
