I know a little bit about US currency. For instance, I know that it’s not made out of paper. It’s actually printed on a mix of cotton and linen. The ingredients to that special paper is a highly guarded secret, and the company that makes it is very private. But how are counterfeit bills detected.

This TED video explains this mysterious paper, and how a special pen is able to detect that it’s counterfeit.
